In order to avoid fines, towing, and possible disciplinary action, all vehicles on the Coral Gables campus should adhere to these policies. Familiarity with, and attention to, the Parking Policies and Procedures is the most effective way of avoiding parking citations.
All vehicles on campus should be registered with our department and are required to display a valid parking permit. Parking permits are printed with the appropriate color corresponding to our color zones. One should park only in designated spaces within lots where the entrance signage includes the color matching your parking permit.
All Students may apply for a parking permit via the following link Apply for UM Parking Permit during our annual sign-up process. An e-mail will be sent to all with this link and the dates on which each group will be eligible to apply. Once in the system, we will advise you which color zones you are eligible for and are available for purchase. After completing your purchase, the permit will be mailed to you. Once mailed, the permit is valid and the responsibility of the applicant.
IMPORTANT: Students with an unpaid parking citation balance may not purchase a parking permit until such balance is paid. MasterCard and/or Visa payments are accepted at the Parking & Transportation office by calling 305-284-3096. Cash or check payment for fine(s) are accepted at the University Cashiers in the Ashe Building.
During winter and spring break holidays, 24-hour parking is provided in Pearson garage.
Commuter students are not permitted to store their vehicles on campus during the winter and spring breaks. Winter break parking is available the week of Fall Commencement through the opening day of student housing in January, both as determined by the University’s academic calendar. Spring break parking is available as of the Friday before Spring recess, as determined by the University’s academic calendar. For further information, please contact Parking & Transportation at 305-284-3096, or e-mail us.
